Project Manager

Job Purpose/Role

As one of the key assets of the company, a hands-on project manager is in charge of the localization and integration of the software in the various countries where it will be rolled out. The project manager will plan budget and oversee end-to-end delivery of the software localization. The project manager may work closely with upper management, local business units, Product owner, development team and other stakeholders for support to ensure scope and direction of the project is on schedule.

 

Key Responsibilities

 Collaborate to the functional scoping and analysis of the project in collaboration with local business units and enterprise architects (scoping, fit/gap analysis, etc.) to define the project scope & requirements.

 Create proposal of localization project plans and budgets and obtain approval from relevant stakeholders (i.e. Project Charter).

 Develop a detailed project plan to track progress to ensure projects area delivered on-time, within scope and within budget

 Identify and manage project risks.

 Prepare and execute the project communication plan. This includes project/client/business partner meetings and conference calls such as project kick-off meetings, weekly and ad-hoc, issue solves and performs post-mortems, while ensuring minutes are distributed

 

Further responsibilities

 Actively participate in requirement refinement and design sessions to produce design proposals & develop relevant software specifications required for the development team.

 Manage & monitor the project scope, which include identification & delivery of change requests during the project.

 Presents and prepares reports to client, corporate office and peers on progress and forecast of project team’s work status, escalating issues and evaluating needed support based on agreed communication plan.

 Lead the technical analysis of the integration and of any required product customization in collaboration with software architects and development team in accordance with the company technical guidelines

 Manages the localization development team to produce the expected features (integrations in the local ecosystem, customizations) based on agreed scope and timeline.

 Oversee daily activities of the delivery team and provide direction and guidance as needed.

 Actively identify and solves issues/conflicts within the team and perform the necessary remedial steps or preventive actions.

 Contribute to team management meetings, providing data and project information

 Manage resource allocation and workload assignments based on agreed timeline and scope.

 Define and ensure that relevant documentation and tangible deliverables are produced at each step/phase of the project

 Lead the product roll out operations in collaboration with local IT and support the local business unit during the cut over period.

 Collaborate with operations teams during support period for defect fixing and root-cause analysis.

 Manage & lead post project closure activities (such as project retrospectives and reviews).

 Plan and manage resource transitions through-out the project phase (knowledge transfer, resource transfers, etc.)

 Evaluate the performance of team members and determine training needs in collaboration with functional managers.

 

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

 Project management skills (scope management, planning, financial estimation and follow up, etc.)

 Similar experience on large scale international projects

 Structured and able to document efficiently

 Smooth communication and ability to engage and build trust with all stakeholders

 Seeking constructive outcomes in discussions, challenging traditional assumptions while remaining willing to compromise when it is beneficial to progress.

Excellent command of English (both written and oral)

 

Desired Requirements /Skills /Experience

 Good understanding of SDLC processes and technical fundamentals

 Understanding of Agile methodology (SCRUM)

 Understanding of Web services (REST, SOAP, XML, JSON)

 Understanding of application design (UX, UI)

 Experience with ticketing tool (JIRA) and time tracking tool

 Thai language ability is a plus

 Ability to travel
