Business Intelligence Analyst

Job Summary and Mission 

We focus on building solutions that enable business customers to find, research, and buy products and services from a vast selection, across multiple devices, marketplaces and regions. Our customers include individual professionals, small businesses to large institutions (and everything in between). Our business customers have different needs than the traditional retail customers, and we are reinventing everything from how we display our selection, price our products, and provide the right customer experience.

We are looking for a highly effective Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA) with a strong background in data extraction, dashboard creation, predictive analytics and developing business/ customer insight. The senior Business Intelligence Analyst will create and improve upon timely, relevant, and actionable category selection in Starbucks business.

This role must love exciting, nurturing and transforming a high volume of data into actionable business information and making it readily accessible to stakeholders. The candidate will analyst date trends to understand behavior and key insights into current performance and will recommended targeted improvements.

Summary of Key Responsibilities 

Responsibilities and essential job junctions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop reports and dashboards using various technologies (i.e. Microsoft Power BI, Analysis services, or Tableau) to allow internal terms (Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Category Teams) and Senior Management to understand issues and identify actions to be taken to solve this actions.
  • Analyst and report data finding from disparate systems and generate reports to find and identify new and insightful ways to enhance the customer experience using your data-driven insights.
  • Provide ad hoc analytical support to improve related systems and known issues
  • Build models and perform predictive analytics for customer engagement, lead sourcing customer segmentation, cross-sell recommendations, win-loss analytics etc.
  • Review insights to provide actionable recommendations to key stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Category teams) and understand and meet their analytics on a continual basis.

Position Specification Requirement:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, Statistic, Computer Science or related field
  • Has at least 2 years working experience in BI or Data Science.
  • Experience in using SQL to analyst data in a database or data warehouse and be able to use a major programming (e.g. JAVA/ C) and/ or a script language (Perl, Unix Shell) to process data for modeling
  • Basic data modelling and fundamental core database concepts  
  • Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power Bi and Tableau 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communication with both business and technical terms
  • Has part experience working with business function (e.g. Sales, marketing and Finance) within a company and/ or customers
  • Has good management skills and team work
  • Has good spoken and written command in English
