Copywriter Specialist II – Digital

The copywriter in the global Marcomm team is responsible for creating compelling, insight-driven, customer-focused communications (media-agnostic creative) that drive results and enhance a clients’ consumer experience - for both online and offline channels. The copywriter delivers written concepts following the content strategy, executes and sometimes designs innovative materials for all assigned projects. The creative projects will consistently satisfy objectives in scope, complexity, direction, vision, time and budget. 

This copywriting position requires assessing various content writing styles and storytelling tactics according to clear briefs to accomplish relevant, meaningful and salient messaging. The content is mostly targeted at external Architects and Designer audiences to enhance engagement, brand reputation and loyalty.

The copywriter builds and develops written and visual online content for a variety of creative formats and platforms including 360 global campaigns, digital, web, blog, email, social media, slogans, headlines, infographics, video scripts in short-, mid- and long-form and real-time (immediate) formats. He/she writes clear, persuasive and original copy that can be repurposed across traditional and new media channels – externally and internally facing.

The copywriter works with the creative teams to ensure visual elements complement the words and provides communications support to company departments and businesses on regional and local level as needed or requested and as it relates to Architects & Designer communications or Social Impact. This provides architects and designers with world-class experiences and positions Kohler Co. as a global leader in design, innovation and technology worldwide.

Role and Responsibility:

Creative Development

  • Conceptualize and deliver unique and breakthrough creative ideas grounded in consistent messages. 
  • Participate in project initiation meetings to gain accurate information and provide corporate input for on- and offline project content curation and writing.
  • Determine tone, look and feel, style, structure and voice of editorial content, based on available space, knowledge of editorial principles, aesthetic sense and brand considerations.
  • Write, gather, organize, craft, distribute, maintain and facilitate approvals of content strategy; write for FB, IG, LinkedIn and other social media according to clear briefs.
  • Write and conceptualize blog posts related to Design, Innovation, Events, Well-being, Sustainability and Art according to written briefs.
  • Conduct research and use analytical skills to compile interview opportunities, internet links, photos, videos etc. and contact external sources for photos rights.
  • Edits own and others’ writing.

  • Maintain consistently on brand aesthetics of design and collaborate to understand, influence and define new design concepts.

  • Report to Contents and Social Media Senior Manager, Marketing Communications, Kitchen & Bath, Kohler Co.
  • Collaborate with key business partners and other creative team members, photographers, production and set designers, etc. 


  • University graduate in the fields of Creative Writing, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, Advertising, new media or other relevant disciplines.
  • Native English Speaker / near Native English Speaker, solid knowledge of American grammar required; good command of other languages a plus.
  • Highly committed individual with a minimum of 2-4 years of working experience in social media, digital in-house or agencies.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and comprehensive experience in digital writing and online content creation within varied channels such as digital, web, social, offline, etc. and digital photography (a plus). 
  • Creative, resourceful team player who can work independently and produce on deadline in a fast-paced, high-volume, collaborative environment.
  • Portfolio to demonstrate creative ability including writing, editing, and production work. 
  • Experience with luxury, global brands, branded content creation or product company content creation (preferred). Experience of social and online culture and trends.
  • Reliable, open-minded, organized, self-motivated, independent, flexible and detail- and solution-oriented strategic thinker.
  • Understand writing is subject to editing and feedback. Demonstrating proof-reading abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills.
  • Knowledge of SEO and tagging (preferred).
  • Willing to travel when required by business but mostly office-based.
