Senior Mechanical Failure Analysis Engineer (5 Positions)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and Lead component level failure analysis, root cause identification, containment actions, solutions and preventive measures
  • Work and follow up with Suppliers and Factory Supplier Quality Engineers on issue pertaining to mechanical dimension and mechanical design improvement until full closure
  • Work with Design Engineering from San Jose and Fujisawa on Component Design Enhancements, ECOs, Evaluations and coordinate implementation in the Factories
  • Develop, maintain and update a working knowledge on component technology, manufacturing methods, test setups and parts application to improve department efficiency and capability, providing technical guidance for junior engineers
  • In depth expertise in major function of the department supporting the organization on critical studies and issue
  • Derive and develop CA for future improvement on products by performing design change based on lesson learnt

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical, Industrial Engineering Physics)
  • Experience at least 0-7 years of working experience preferably in the HDD or consumer electronics industries

PREFERRED:                                                  

  • Knowledge in disk drive will be an advantage
  • Be able to work under pressure and possess a strong sense of urgency, commitment and responsibility towards the work especially in a crisis
  • The ability to travel regionally where required

SKILLS:                                                  

  • Able to communicate in English (written/verbal).
  • Knowledge in MS office, SPC, Minitab, JMP, MATLAB, GD&T, DOE, Mechanical Drawing Interpretation
  • Knowledge SolidWorks skill
  • Capable of performing mechanical stack up tolerance analysis.
