Lead Piping and Mechanical Engineer - Automotive Industry

Position:                    Lead Piping and Mechanical Engineer 

Location:                    Had Yai, SongKhla 

Total Package:          90,000 THB +++/month 

Contract Term            Permanent (Mon - Fri)

Start Date:                  ASAP

Responding to expansion and develop production line: 

  • To lead engineering design studies PDP-FEED and Detail Engineering (or supervise the design studies) developed for Mechanical and piping domain, then to assure the conformity of the design with the project specification, with local regulations and compliance of performance, cost and schedule.
  • To write technical tender and support the procurement activities, identify and highlight any potential deviations of cost and lead time.
  • To look over the outside fabrication of Mechanical equipment and piping fabrication, then, at site, the construction and equipment installation, in compliance with technical specifications, performance defined during design and within the timeline constraints.
  • To coordinate and monitor mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, test and acceptance.
  • To support for commissioning activities.

Engineering Phase:

  • To design the installation of mechanical and piping equipment as per process/project requirements.
  • To lead design activities for mechanical and piping for plant projects.
  • Develop engineering deliverable and documents to support projects during engineering phase PDP and FEED.
  • To check, comment or validate the design documentation done by others
  • To monitor and validate subcontracted services.
  • To track evolution through the modification requests.
  • To organize meetings for sharing knowledge.
  • To report to Construction Stage Management of progress status using relevant indicators.
  • To prepare tender for procurement activities

Construction Phase:

  • All the tasks for the construction are defined, organized and assigned.
  • Safety risk analysis is formalized. Preventive measures and risk management are defined.
  • To lead periodic review with CTR and project team, covering EP applications rules, construction rules of art, compliance, respect for planning,...).
  • Participation to FAT per Licensor request and prepare Punch list for FAT
  • Regular inspections all a long of the construction, including visits to the fabrication workshop.
  • Create EMP punch list to follow construction and share with Project team
  • Give all modifications / update to the planner to keep the discipline on track, and alert on the potential impact on other disciplines
  • To monitor interface and coordination with other disciplines.
  • To manage potential modifications in case of interference or design mistake.
  • Demonstrate functionality and performances in compliance with safety and specifications.
  • Verify the as-built folder
  • All modifications are updated, IOM and drawings are As-built
  • Punch list closed
  • Test reports

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or higher degree of Mechanical Engineering.
  • Over 10 years experience in develop project, expansion line production in Petrochemical Plant. If candidate from EPC is prefer.
  • Design skills (piping standards, 3d model, isometrics, petrochemical equipment design, write technical tender)
  • Program: AutoCAD, Solidwork, PDMS
  • Construction skills (FAT, Regular inspection, welding map, conformity checks, punch list, …)
  • Experience in petrochemical engineering (PDP, FEED, DD)
  • Good command both Thai and English, Coworker is foreigner.
