Transportation Procurement Manager

Job Purpose

To handle transport procurement activities and to coordinate with internal customers and outside suppliers for sourcing transport services for Thailand domestic and upcountry activities.


Key Accountabilities

  • Manages relationship with subcontractors as well as negotiates rates / tariff and terms to ensure best rates versus service levels for all third party transport activities.
  • Manages all Ground procurement service KPI’s internally to the business and customer. Ensures rate cards are published and updated on a timely manner.
  • Conducts periodic reviews of suppliers’ performance according to set SLA / KPI’s as well as ISO & OHSAS requirements and takes action as appropriate to initiate improvement.
  • Coordinates with other departments on renewals, new business opportunities and purchasing process and provides information and further support as needed. Supports periodic business reviews with BD team.
  • Maintains detailed database and overview on existing partnerships as well as contract expiry dates and coordinates with suppliers for contract renewals.
  • Evaluates potential partnerships with additional subcontractors to ensure sufficient service coverage and SLA.
  • Provides all relevant management and operational reporting on ground procurement services.
  • Performs additional tasks as necessary or required.


    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Logistics, Business Management or related fields of study
    • Working experience in procurement and transport operation within a logistic related field (Ground Transport)
    • Direct experience on procurement / managing relationship with subcontractors
    • Knowledge of cost improvement strategies
    • Knowledge of ISO & OHSAS
    • Good understanding of P&L, cost models and logistics solution for transport
    • Computer skill (MS Office)
    • Business level English communication skills
    • Able to communicate clearly, effectively and cross-functional to various levels within the organization
    • Able to speak local language (Thai) effectively to create network and connect with local subcontractors/ suppliers
    • Excellent negotiation skills
