Purchasing Supervisor / Senior Purchasing Supervisor

Buying and acquiring materials

  • Supervise purchasing team to source and acquire materials, equipment and spare parts for manufacturing and operations.
  • Interface with both local and foreign vendors in negotiating prices and terms including after-sales service, warranties, delivery arrangements and manner of payments.
  • Evaluate quotations and recommends award to specific vendor in conformity with the company’s procurement procedures.
  • Pursue value comparative analysis and translate them into tangible benefits to the organization.
  • Co-ordinates any post-purchase activities that may be necessary.

 

Supplier sourcing, developing and continuing improvement

  • Source new vendors according to manufacturing and operation requirements.
  • Identify and/ or develop manufacturers and vendors to supply the company’s various requirements for materials, equipment and supplies based on specifications provided by the requisitioning group.
  • Act as liaison between the vendor and the company’s internal users by gathering information such as technical details, prevailing market conditions and latest innovations for items to be purchased.
  • Recommend cost reduction and systems improvement programs in order to optimise the various purchasing activities.
  • Initiate corrective actions on day to day problems that may arise as well as major problems.
  • Work with vendors for continues improvement on quality, service and cost optimisation.
  • Ensure the purchasing function to comply with company's policy and regulations.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years solid of purchasing experience in manufacturing industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in supervisor roles.
  • Experience in Project buying, Engineering parts buying and/or maintenance service buying.
  • Good command of English and Computer literacy.
  • Good service mind and ability to work independently.
