Pilot Plant Technician

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform the inspections of pilot plant machines and equipment as well as laboratory and pilot plant facilities and utilities.
  • Perform preventive maintenance of pilot plant machines and equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance of laboratory and pilot plant facilities and utilities.
  • Perform fabrication work of new Pilot Plants.
  • Assist to operate pilot plant trials in a safe and timely manner.
  • Assist to operate and maintain the Jet-Reactor, Post-Treatment and SPD pilot plant units.
  • Assist to maintenance and minor modifications (e.g. tube bending and fitting, making and breaking flanges, leak testing, inserting and removing instrumentations).
  • Assist to monitor usage of raw materials and laboratory consumables, and replenish when necessary.
  • Follow good laboratory practices and procedures.
  • Upkeep cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
  • Report unsafe conditions and safety violations to Supervisor, Safety Officer or Lab Manager.
  • Other work assigned by the Supervisor or Lab Manager.
  • Qualifications:

  • Vocational Diploma in any related fields.
  • Possess at least 2 years working experience in process R&D and/or manufacturing plant.
  • Experience in preventive maintenance work of equipment.
  • Experience in pilot plant fabrication.
  • Experience in electrical, instrument and piping works.
  • Ability to work on shifts if required.
  • Prior experience in working with Oleochemicals will be an advantage.
  • Good communication, problem solving and report writing skills.
