Teaching Assistant (Nursery / Early Years)

 

The job holder’s responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young person’s for whom s/he is responsible, or with whom s/he comes into contact will be to adhere to and ensure compliance with the relevant Cognita Safeguarding; Child Protection Policy and Procedures at all times. If in the course of carrying out the duties of the role, the job holder identifies any instance that a child is suffering or likely to suffer significant harm either at school or at home, s/he must report any concerns to the School’s Child Protection Officer/Designated Safeguarding Lead or to the Head of indeed to the Regional CEP so that a referral can be made accordingly to the relevant third part services.

 

Support for the pupils:

  • To work with the children wherever directed by the class teacher either with individual, pairs or group.
  • Fostering the participation of pupils in the social and academic practices of a school.
  • Seeking to enable pupils to become more independent learners.
  • Help to raise the standards of achievement of all pupils.

Support for the teachers:

  • To always be available according to the School’s contractual hours to enable the preparation of required materials for the Lessons of the day or subsequent days as direct by class teacher.
  • Helping implement lesson plans.
  • Being involved at whole-class level by helping implement lesson plans, providing support for Literacy & Numeracy Strategies.
  • Providing feedback to teachers.

Support for the school:

  • To adhere to the contract of employment for the classroom assistant and be available in term time and school holidays as directed by the school within the Thai labour law.

  •  Highly committed to the vision of the department
  •  Friendly and able to fit into a team
  •  Ability to motivate students and work with them to get the best from them
  •  ICT efficient. 

Qualifications

  • Experience – a minimum of 3 years working in this/similar position and preferably in an international school environment
  • Qualified to work with/teach students
  • Education and licensing – list the minimum education, certification and/or licensing needed to be successful in this position.

Working Conditions

  •  Working day;  7:30am – 4.00pm
  •  Overtime:  when school events exceed the working day such as during inter-school sports events, weekends, or events deemed compulsory to attend by the head of School/head of Primary
