Head of Human Resources/Head of Human Resources

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the School’s recruitment strategy in collaboration with the Chief Operations Officer (COO)/GM and Headmaster
  • Incorporate HR policies, procedures and employment contract packages into the strategy that prioritize engagement and retention methods. Revise HR policies/handbooks.
  • Implement fully the RST Safer Recruitment Policy.
  • Play an integral role in the recruitment process - drafting and advertising of job descriptions, responding to all speculative applications, organizing interviews, undertaking reference and pre-employment checks and contract and package negotiations
  • Establish a people management strategy that ensures clear communication channels and support mechanisms are in place, work and contract queries are managed effectively and disciplinary or grievance procedures have been drawn up
  • Be accountable for short-term and medium-term budget and policy recommendations as well as undertake routine analyses that report overarching and comprehensive insights into employee costings and turnover percentages
  • Establish a performance management strategy with supporting policies and procedures that incorporates all stages - from induction and probation to annual performance reviews - and ensure that responsible senior managers are equipped with the  labour knowledge and procedural tools needed
  • Implement a training and professional development scheme that facilitates opportunities to up-skill and/or learn of workplace practice changes and/or build awareness of emerging issues in related fields
  • Keep informed of changes to local and international HR legislation and ensure the School remains compliant at all times
  • Co-ordinate the facilitation of expatriate staff work permit and visas in accordance with  the Thai Ministry of Education, Immigration and Labour laws and regulations
  • Evaluate the school’s workforce needs in order to recommend changes to the school’s human resources strategy. Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of human resource professionals to ensure that the school’s strategy is implemented effectively and within established budgets.
  • Work with the GM/COO and Headmaster on other tasks that may include managing the payroll function, reviewing compensation and employee package benefits to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness and supporting the Headmaster on staff relations, recruitment and exits
  • Manage a number of HR staff.

 Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in the HR sector-at least 5 years.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis on business management or HR related field.
  • Experience of working in an International School would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of Thai Labour Law
  • High proficiency in Thai and English language (Written and spoken)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A proactive, flexible, self-disciplined, calm-under-pressure attitude
  • IT literacy across a range of computer software
  • Extensive experience in the operation of a Human Resources Database.
