Asset Maintenance Manager

Summary

To develop and implement strategies, policies and procedures in regard to fleet selection, procurement, appearance and maintenance, ensure that the fleet meets the service, image and financial objectives of the company.  To be part of the management team and assist in the development of tenders and proposals for prospective clients. Lead in project management and change management in vehicle maintenance

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Responsible for all vehicles and material handling equipment Repair and Maintenance (R&M) for all sites nationwide.
  • Implement the preventative R&M schedule for optimum vehicle fleet operations.
  • Ensure the installation and tests are carried out in accordance with Quality Assurance, Quality Control and relevant OH&S requirements.
  • Ensure all vehicles are comply with Company Fleet Policy 
  • Liaise with suppliers and negotiate best price for fleet items including fuel, tires, etc.
  • Monitor maintenance agreements to ensure suppliers meet their obligations to company.
  • Prioritize repair and maintenance plan according to safety or non-safety or operational constraints.
  • Monitor performance measures relevant to the management of repairs and maintenance costs.
  • Prepare the report or any accidents, defects, or unsafe behaviours.
  • Provide technical advice for the specification of fleet and equipment.
  • Review and test products, equipment and vehicles which may help to reduce costs or improve productivity.
  • Initiate and implement cost saving in R&M expenses
  • Manage and Control the R&M expenses for all transportation sites with planned budget
  • Lead in project management and change management in vehicle maintenance
  • Manage, motivate and coach team members to achieve optimal performance outcome

 

Education, Qualifications & Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • At least 5-8 years working experience in mechanical or repairs & maintenance fields
  • Knowledge and experience in trucks, trailer, and MHE maintenance
  • Demonstrated high level of financial knowledge and budget skills
  • Proficiency of English language both written and spoken skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and an organised approach to work including time management
