Assistant General Accounting Manager

To provide supervision of the accounts payable, general accounting and management reporting functions. To support the Senior Accounting and Finance Manager in ensuring compliance with all current and future accounting standards. To ensure compliance with all taxes (corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax). To report to the head office regarding performance against budget.

Main Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Supervise a team of three accounts payable staff
  • Prepare and record accounting entries for assets, liabilities, revenues and expenses by compiling and analysing account information
  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable and resolve discrepancies
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Prepare financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with Thai Accounting Standards (TAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Supervise internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  • Provide information to auditors by analysing and scheduling general ledger accounts
  • Assist with tax audits and tax returns
  • Produce budgets and forecasts in accordance with group reporting schedule
  • Prepare summary feedback of management account variances to budget
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures
  • Participate in the review and implementation of process and system changes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 5+ years’ experience in general or tax accounting
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
  • In-depth understanding of Thai Accounting Standards (TAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Dynamic AX is highly desirable
  • ICT literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office, internet, intranet and advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
