Sustainable Consumption and Production Facility – SWITCH Asia II

We are currently looking for a Project Manager to start as soon as possible and assist the Sustainable Consumption and Production Facility – SWITCH Asia II Team in Bangkok, Thailand.

Responsibilities
The Project Manager will provide project and management assistance for the implementation of the programme of work and other emerging issues, including all narrative and progress reports as well as technical assistance on thematic issues as appropriate . She/he will report to Team Leader

In this context, the position holder fulfils the following tasks:

Tasks
In the area of management assistance:

  • Follow up the implementation of the POW and its activities with all concerned Key Experts, Central Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia and Communication;
  • Prepare regular updates on implementation status and inform concerned key experts, and consortium members as needed
  • Prepare narrative, progress reports and final project report, together with concerned key experts, on the implementation of the programme, including the progress report every 6 months, with all necessary annexes;
  • Help in preparation and provide substance for meetings/ workshops organised by the SWITCH Asia SCP Facility
  • Provide technical day to day support to the team leader and Key experts of the SWITCH Asia SCP Facility
  • Contribute, as much as possible and relevant, to the substance of selected SWITCH Asia SCP Facility thematic reports t
  • Review concept notes and terms of references prepared by key experts to ensure consistency with templates and requirements; carefully proof read them
  • Participate and contribute to the team meetings

In supporting the project management:

  • Co-manage calendars, traveling and appointments of Key Experts and Project Managers together with Office and event manager
  • Compiles and organizes reports, time sheets of consultants and NKEs together with Budget and Accounting Officer
  • Compilation of event documentation and outputs
  • Logistics and management support of trainings/events on site, as appropriate
  • Communication with Consortium partners (GIZ, IGES and adelphi)  as needed as well as with other stakeholders as required, such as ASEAN, APRSCP;
  • Flexible support to project managers as required

Required qualifications, competences and experience qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Management/public and business administration, and/or economic/environment/social sciences
  • Topical experience on SCP/green economy/circular economy, programme development desirable
  • Keen to learn and contribute to the substance of the SWITCH Asia SCP Facility
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken office language)
  • Able to adapt easily and to work independently while being a good team player
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong ability to meet agreed targets
  • Able to work precisely under high time pressure and workload
  • Service-oriented attitude
  • Working experience with the UN, ASEAN and EU is an asset
  • Working experience with GIZ is an asset
  • 10 years of experience, out of which 5 should be relevant to the needs of this post.

Other knowledge, additional competences

  • Full IT proficiency (all current MS Office applications, internet)

This will be a fixed-term contract, starting as soon as possible and running until December 2021
