Who are we looking for?
Our high-growth multinational firm is seeking an experienced Regional Financial Manager to join our team. Dot Property is an entreprenual company with a ”flat organisation” where the successfull candidate has the opportunity to work in a hands on, demanding and proactive environment. Your ability to use excel at an advanced level will be critical to succeed in this function. Our daily verbal communication as well as written communication is in English. Dot Property’s Financial Department is a small team where we need to deal with many issues. A large number of these are complex with domestic and international implications. Our parent company is a large International Group quoted on Tokyo Stock Exchange so compliance from several different functional departments adds to the complexity. Considering this, your work must be exceptionally well structured, you must be able to cope well preassure and meeting deadlines is a must.
The ideal candidate is someone who is diligent, self-driven and can deliverstrong and documented recommendations about Dot Property finances, its financial processes, as well as efficiencies andimprovements within and among the various financial bodies across the Dot Property the group.
Reports to: Dot Property Group CEO
Cooperates with: Lifull Connect Group CFO, Group Compliance Managers, other Managers, HR, Finance Managers at subsidiaries, External Auditors, Tax advisors, etc.
Areas of responsibility
o Manage all aspects of the Dot Property Group’s financial functions (currently with offices in Thailand, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam);
o Oversee the financial department, including financial assistants & accountants;
o Closely monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions;
o Ensure that the group’s financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth;
o Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports;
o Present financial reports to board members, stakeholders, executives, and clients in formal meetings;
o Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation;
o Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies across the region are met;
o Corporate finance: manage company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity, disposals and acquisitions, as appropriate;
o Manage & support audit requirements for group audit and 4 local audits taking into account statutory deadlines;
o Continuously lead and develop the finance team;
o Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision-making;
o Contract outside services for tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, corporate secretarial and other financial needs as necessary;
o Track the company's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement;
o Seek out methods for minimizing financial risk to the company;
o Research and analyze financial reports and market trends;
o Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes;
o Support with setting up other regional offices when required.
Skills and Qualifications
Working alongside the company’s CEO, the Regional Financial Manager will not only have exceptional accounting skills and hands-on with company finances, be self-driven but also fit in well with the team. You are passionate and ready to support business needs from budgeting to forecasting, financial analysis for other departments and offer strategic insights into the business and markets.
Competencies and skills
o Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required (MBA or Master’s Degree in related discipline is a plus);
o Experience from one of the Big 4 followed by 3 to 5 years’ experience from a mid-sized company reporting into an international group is the preferred background.
o Qualified member of an accountancy body;
o 5+ years’ experience in a financial management position, preferably in South East Asia;
o Accounting and IFRS experience and knowledge (3 years or more);
o Experience in managing a team of 5+ with team members sitting remotely in various countries;
o Ability to liaise with team members, and interact with managers of different departments and in different countries at group level and with Senior (Executive) members of staff;
o Reporting and generation of financial reports: P&L, cash Flow and Balance Sheet.
o Exceptional experience in dealing with auditors (Local and Group);
o Strong experience and knowledge of taxes (local & regional);
o Ability to train and supervise staff on changes and improvements;
o Meet the requirement for a commercially astute, articulate, technically strong, dynamic, insightful and influential leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels;
o Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills;
o Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously;
o Exceptional communication skills at all levels;
o High integrity, energetic, highly motivated, with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence and innovation in pursuit of business growth and success.
Strong IT skills, always being ahead of new technologies
o Experience in multinational companies a major plus;
o Experience in SOX a plus.
