Business Process and Technology Change Lead

About this role:

  • To lead all Business and Technology change for the Thailand business and work on behalf of the Thailand CEO and be primarily responsible for the day-to-day direction of the Business Process and IT change team, performing the role of an Agile Product Owner.

Key Responsibilities:

 Leadership

  • Join the Thailand leadership team as an active member to lead the business, company strategy, vision and culture.
  • Work with other leaders to ensure that the business results and priorities are on track.
  • Support and maintain the Company’s philosophy and values; lead by example and be a key role model in living the DirectAsia values - Bold, Bright & Direct.
  • Develop and drive a culture that supports coaching, developing and motivating employees to perform to their highest standards.
  • Contribute to both the strategic and tactical planning of the business.
  • Ensure that all budget and performance targets are met or exceeded, including profitability of the portfolio.

 Business Process and Technology Change

  • Be the Technology change gatekeeper, responsible for ensuring that business changes requiring technology development are appropriately thought through, defined, prioritized, planned, tested and executed.
  • Prioritise and re-prioritise Technology change in order to meet business needs and according to business value and optimise the IT change cycle capacity.
  • Create and continually maintain the Technology Change Backlog and ensures that the Technology Change Backlog is groomed prior to planning meetings in order for the team to remain productive.
  • Develop initiatives and implement the best practices for continuous business process improvements.
  • Plan, implement and monitor business process changes for projects. Keep track and communicate status of business initiative projects to management.
  • Assist in budget planning, resource allocation, and schedule to implement process improvements.
  • Assist in making business decisions relating to system implementation, modification, maintenance.
  • Work with the Thailand leadership team to:
  • understand the strategy, priorities for and the operational challenges facing the TH business up to 2 years ahead to allow for change activities to be appropriately prioritised.
  • understand and translate requirements for the IT development team.
  • Work with the IT team to:
  • ensure the team works on the highest value changes in relation to the TH business priorities.
  • answer day-to-day questions of functionality or facilitate answers from the appropriate subject matter expert.
  • better understand technical solutions in order to find optimal solutions.
  • specify, write acceptance criteria, write and organize user stories.
  • assist with the elaboration of Epics, Themes and Features into user stories that are granular enough to be achieved in a single sprint.
  • assist with release planning to define the combined set of features that constitute a production release.

 Broader Technology Change

  • Continuously engage all stakeholders to ensure the team is building the right things and delivering value.
  • Continuously remind the team of business vision and goals at the beginning of every release and sprint.
  • Continuously review progress and accept or reject the work done at the end of every sprint (where appropriate, the reprioritisation of incomplete or incorrect work).
  • Communicate status regularly to stakeholders including progress and rationale for day-to-day decisions.
  • Ensure that all channels of communication are open and that the team has the right amount of support to succeed.

 Qualifications:

  • Minimum of bachelor degree in any related fields
  • Knowledge of motor insurance products, underwriting process, policy administration life cycle and operational processes would be an advantage
  • Having experiences working with a team to deliver complex multi-faced projects
  • Awareness of Agile methodologies and possessing a commercial view
  • Strong leadership and effective communication 
  • Fluent in English and Thai, both verbal and written
