Team: #TeamClout | Clout Media

About the Role

At Clout Media, we believe earned media is not about blasting mass press releases—it is about navigating the media ecosystem with precision and placing stories that journalists genuinely want to tell. We are looking for an agile, well-connected, and newsroom-savvy Media Relations Specialist to lead our media engagement engine.

As a Clouter, you will be our internal authority on the Thai media landscape. You will bridge our clients’ brand narratives with the editorial agendas of top-tier publications, consult on newsworthy story hooks, and maintain strong newsroom relationships across diverse beats. If you understand newsroom psychology, know what editors look for, and thrive in securing high-impact earned media coverage, #TeamClout is your playground.

What You’ll Do (Your Mission)

1. Media Relations & Pitching Strategy

  • Nurture Newsroom Relationships: Build, maintain, and expand strong relationships with journalists, section editors, and reporters across Tier 1, Tier 2, and digital-native publications in Thailand (Tech, Business, Corporate, Lifestyle, and Consumer beats).

  • Story Pitching & Media Placements: Pitch tailored story ideas, exclusive feature angles, and editorial commentaries directly to media desks to secure high-value earned coverage across print, digital, and broadcast platforms.

  • Proactive Media Engine: Identify editorial opportunities and maintain regular outreach to keep Clout Media and our clients top-of-mind for reporters.

2. Media Landscape Advisory & Editorial Angle Consultation

  • Editorial Angle Consultancy: Partner with PR Account Leads to provide strategic advisory on story hooks and media angles—transforming raw client briefs and corporate narratives into highly newsworthy pitches.

  • Media Content Optimization & Vetting: Review and refine press releases, photo captions, and official brand statements drafted by the PR team to ensure journalistic tone, strong news structure, and maximum pickup appeal.

  • Media Landscape & Agenda Intelligence: Monitor and consult the internal team on media movements, trending news agendas, and editorial desk policies in Thailand, guiding optimal timing for media outreach.

  • Tailored Pitch Strategy: Recommend the best delivery formats for specific media tiers (e.g., Exclusive Interviews, Roundtables, Press Conferences, or Targeted PR Wire).

3. Press Events & On-Ground Coordination

  • Media Event Operations: Lead the operational execution of media briefings, press conferences, facility visits, and media roundtable sessions.

  • RSVP & Media Guest Management: Curate targeted media invitation lists, manage follow-ups, and ensure strong journalist attendance on-site.

  • On-Ground Media Facilitator: Serve as the primary media liaison on-site, managing press registrations, facilitating one-on-one interview queues, and assisting spokespeople during media engagements.

4. Monitoring, Clippings & Media Intelligence

  • Media Landscape Tracking: Monitor daily news cycles to identify real-time newsjacking opportunities for our clients.

  • Data-Driven Media Monitoring & Reporting: Leverage advanced media tracking platforms (e.g., Meltwater, Dataxet/InfoQuest, or equivalent) to actively track brand sentiment, competitor share-of-voice (SOV), and message pull-through—transforming raw clipping data into strategic executive summaries for clients.

  • Media Database Stewardship: Maintain, audit, and continually update Clout Media’s master media database, tracking beat changes and journalist movements.

Who You Are (What We’re Looking For)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.

  • 3–5 years of experience in Media Relations within a PR Agency, in-house corporate communications, or as an ex-reporter/journalist transitioning into PR.

  • Strong Media Network: Proven network of established media contacts across Thai newsrooms (Business, Tech, Consumer, or Lifestyle desks).

  • Sharp Editorial Sense: Deep understanding of newsroom dynamics, editorial agendas, and what editors require to cover a story.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Exceptional command of Thai (both written and spoken) with professional editorial fluency; comfortable communicating in English with agency leadership and international clients.

  • Calm & Solution-Oriented: Diplomatic, highly organized, and calm under tight media deadlines and on-ground event pressure.

  • Media Monitoring & Analytics Proficiency: Hands-on experience with media intelligence and social listening platforms (e.g., Meltwater, InfoQuest, or similar local/regional monitoring tools), with a demonstrated ability to set up search queries, track real-time coverage, and translate analytics into actionable client reports.

  • Strong network of established Thai media contacts across key news desks is required; additional connections with digital content creators or key opinion leaders (KOLs) will be a strong advantage.

Why Join #TeamClout?
  • Hybrid Work Flexibility: Autonomy and trust to manage your time and deliverables effectively.

  • Real Ownership: Direct voice in shaping media strategies for diverse local and international clients.

  • Collaborative Leadership: Work alongside seasoned PR leads in a culture that values fresh thinking, operational standardization, and continuous growth.
