Lead Nurse/หัวหน้าแผนกพยาบาล

Responsibility:

  • Toprovideafirstclassservicetopupils,membersofstaffandvisitorstotheHealthCentre. 
  • To ensure that the appropriate care is given to in-patients and provide a confidential counselling and health advice service asappropriate. 
  • To plan, organise and control the Health Centre staffing and operations to ensure that the agreed and authorised services are carried out to agreed standards. To ensure that the provision of staff cover in the Health Centre will encompass the entire period of time when pupils and the school is in session \ pupils are on site. This role will be expected to play an integral role in that cover. This will include periods when this post may be ‘on call’ to provide backup. 
  • To be responsible for the appropriate liaison with parents, hospitals, medical partnership, medical administrative and domestic staff, House Deans, Matrons, Senior Leadership Team (SLT) School Office and General Manager’s Office on matters concerning the medical care and welfare of the pupils of Rugby School Thailand asappropriate. 
  • To oversee arrangements for boarding pupils to attend any medical, dental or other health appointments as necessary. To instruct the Matrons in the correct medical care required for the children and in day to day health careprocedures. 
  • To follow good practice and specific directives on immunisation procedures and other medical routines relevant to the school population, including care plans for pupils requiring them, in liaison with pupils, parents, and boarding housestaff. 
  • To provide a safe and non-judgemental environment for carrying out Random Drug Testing on pupils, as requested bySLT. 
  • To oversee and monitor the distribution and maintenance of all first aid kits onsite.
  •  Health education 

    • To promote health education throughout the school population, through initiatives such as ‘Healthy Eating Week’etc
    • To take a healthy interest and advise on the delivery of PSHE, to support teaching staff as appropriate.
    • To ensure the provision of and access to a range of publicity materials on issues relating to student physical and mentalhealth.
    • To keep up-to-date with current health promotion initiatives and promote within the school community.

     Staff

    •  As a manager of staff, to lead, supervise, deploy, support, develop and train the Health Centre team.
    • The recruitment of staff, with reference to and in conjunction with the General Manager’s office for all positions within the Health Centre.
    • To ensure that a code of confidentiality is developed and adhered to by all Health Centre staff
    • To promote good relationships and minimise labour turnover through leading and motivating staff by proper allocation of duties and responsibilities, together with fair and prompt treatment of informal disciplinary and grievance casesarising.
    Administration
    •  To be responsible for the efficient administration of the HealthCentre.
    • To maintain appropriate patient records and documentation and report on these as appropriate. 
    • To develop and maintain protocols and administration procedures concerning the Health Centre and the service the centreprovides. 
    Financial\Budget
    •  To prepare annually a budget bid for the Health Centre and associated activities, in conjunction with the FinanceDept.
    • To manage the delegated budget for the year, ensuring that authorised expenditure is not exceeded.

     Stock and Equipment

    •  To understand and ensure correct storage and administration ofdrugs.
    • To be responsible for the forward planning of all medical supplies, to monitor usage of these and to maintain reasonable levels of such supplies in line withactivity.
    • To arrange the purchase of medical supplies within the limits of the budget. To check and record the amount, prices and condition of all supplies anddeliveries.
    • To avoid damage to equipment and deterioration of medical supplies and to be responsible for the secure custody of medical stock and equipment, as appropriate, within the department.
    • To report promptly any accidents, complaints or untoward occurrences to the General Manager.
    • To be responsible for medical supplies and equipment in accordance with Rugby School Thailand’s Health and SafetyPolicy.
    • To be responsible for making sure that staff within the Health Centre are aware of the appropriateHealthandSafetyatWorkrequirementsandthattheyadherethereto.

    • To ensure that your own knowledge of health and safety requirements, as relevant to your departments activities, is up todate.

    Personal

    • To maintain professional awareness and current changes in nursing practice by professional reading andresearch.
    • To attend any courses or conferences as required to assist you to carry out your professionalduties. 
    • To present a well-groomed and confident image at alltimes. 

    General

    • From time to time you may be required to assist in other duties in support of other activities at Rugby School Thailand. These duties will not when considered in total be to an extent which changes the overall character of yourjob.

    THE PERSON 

    The successful candidate will have wide people management and administrative experience in a medicalenvironment.

     

    Qualifications:

    •  Sympathetic to the aims and ethos of independent international / Britisheducation
    • A self-starter with the ability to diagnose and resolve problems on their owninitiative
    • A good organiser andmanager
    • Efficient and accurate with high personalstandards
    • An excellent communicator with the ability to write succinctly and clearly without recourse tojargon
    • Computerliterate
    • Good social skills – able to relate to and work with a variety of people from different backgrounds
    • Smart andpresentable
