Managing cost savings on raw material pricing through analysis and foreseeing trends.
Maintaining price lists in the system to ensure that all raw material items are updated in pricing and payment terms.
Issuing POs and following up on deliveries with suppliers for sample/trial raw materials.
Providing guidance to maintain communications between Purchasing, Engineering and Manufacturing regarding inventory levels.
Working closely with the regional office on regional initiatives to ensure the targeted savings are met, and, sharing information of sources with prices.
Providing in-depth knowledge and experience; levels of which career may stabilize for many years or even until retirement.
Solving complex problems or problems where precedent may not exist.
Working independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
Often leading work of project teams. Defining the issues and scope of defined projects. Determining and presenting interpretations of findings. Oversees the completion of projects, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, and evaluating results, etc.
Performing various other job functions as and when required by the department.
Bachelor’s Degree desired.
6+ years prior buying, purchasing or related experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Well versed in purchasing techniques and logistical supply chain.
Well versed in assisting a Purchasing Manager in vendor selection and negotiating/developing contracts.
Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and function specific software.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent purchasing skills with strong business acumen.
