Teaching Assistant/Teaching Assistant

Main Responsibilities:

  • To help and assist the class teachers in the preparation of resources and equipment needed for lessons.
  • To assist and work alongside the class teacher during lessons.
  • To help and assist with the displays in the classroom and around the school.
  • To work and participate in all class and year group activities.
  • To support the school’s policies and child protection policy
  • To assist in the establishment and maintenance of standards of pupil behavior.
  • To work with the class teacher to provide meaningful assistance during lessons.
  • To participate in the school’s INSET programme
  • To set up and maintain an efficient and well-ordered learning environment.
  • To undertake duties in accordance with the duty rota.
  • To undertake any other duties that the Head of Pre-Prep or Class teacher may reasonably request from time to time.

Formal Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Education or any related field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years teaching experience in the international school would be advantage.
  • Enjoy working with children and a positive service-orientated approach
  • Excellent spoken and written English language (TOEIC score 650) skills
  • IT literacy across a range of computer programmes

Work Environment:

  • The successful applicant will operate from within a brand new classroom at the school site surrounded by glorious countryside. Living and commuting arrangements are the individual’s responsibility.
  • Permanent – 5 days per week (Mon-Fri)
  • Hours 7.45 am – 6 pm (potentially finishing later if assisting with after-school activities)

Qualifications, Identification, Health and Background Checks:

  • Please note that you will be required to bring documentation to interview providing proof of your identity and qualifications. You many also be required, within the final appointment process, to undergo a health check and relevant background checks (e.g. Enhanced disclosure with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) in the UK and a local police certificate) as part of the school’s recruitment and safeguarding procedures.


A competitive salary will be offered and commensurate with qualifications and work experience. Subject to performance review outcomes, incentives for career advancement and/or salary upgrades will also be made available.
