BASIC FUNCTIONS REQUIRED:
Incumbent serves as the Senior Surveillance and Research Coordinator for activities conducted by the Epidemiology Branch, Centers for Disease Control and prevention (CDC) Division of Global Health Protection (DGHP) in Nonthaburi, Thailand. The incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of tasks in initiating, planning, organizing, implementing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating infectious disease surveillance and research activities conducted by DGHP and collaborating institutions. The incumbent directly supervises the surveillance coordinators in DGHP’s two surveillance provinces and oversees the surveillance, research, and training activities of over 50 contract staff in the 20 surveillance hospitals. The incumbent, along with DGHP collaborators, particularly Thai Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) staff, takes a lead role investigating and responding to diseases outbreaks that are in line with DGHP missions and objectives. As a member of the senior management team, the incumbent plays a key role in DGHP's strategic & action planning.
