Buying Manager - Beverages

Responsibilities :

  • Ensure buying area has a long term customer led plan, which drives customer loyalty. Use insight tools to analyze and understand performance issues and opportunities. Develop plans to deliver category strategy.
  • Support department range strategy to implement a customer focused range which delivers financial KPIs. Source innovative product to deliver insight led ranges across channels, regions and affluence levels to support the category strategy.
  • Build & manage supplier relationship through a supplier strategy to develop a market leading buy, move and sell plan aligned to the customer plan and category strategy. Identify and assess new suppliers to deliver market leading product innovation as well as building long term supplier partnerships.
  • Work with suppliers and quality team to ensure product quality is achieved and maintained.
  • Support sale plan to deliver trade, promotions, events exceeding KPI forecasts and drive footfall.
  • Forecast and manage my budgets effectively. Negotiate with supplier partners to deliver market leading product costs and investment in-line with Tesco Buying model.
  • Conduct regular store/website visits to understand how my ranges have landed either in-store or online, keeping abreast of competitor and category developments to inform future range development.
  • Work best with cross function e.g. Supply chain/ SRD/ Support Office/ Operations/ Finance as a team

 Qualification :

  • Experience in Buying role for 3 years as a minimum.
  • Having experience in beverages, essence, instant coffee or tea or packaged food products would be a BIG PLUS
  • Strong Influencing and negotiation skills
  • Data Analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
