Factory Manager (Confidential)
Responsibilities:
  • Leading, directing and controlling the day-to-day activities of a plant to achieve the short and long-term financial and operating objectives set by the overall division business plan.
  • Being responsible for activities of Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Control, Supply and Logistics, Product Marketing, Accounting, IT, HR and Administration.
  • Contributing to strategic planning including pricing review and marketing strategy & decision-making at the plant level to develop and implement plant operating objectives that align with the division’s vision and its current and long-term business objectives.
  • Ensuring the implementation and ongoing effectiveness of work processes, operating discipline, management systems and enabling technologies and roles.
  • Ensuring systems are in place to reduce variation, produce quality products and meet customer needs. Interfacing with customers as required.
  • Ensuring safe and environmentally responsible operations at the site.
  • Overseeing effective Health, Safety and Environmental programs and resourcing to achieve regional and global SHE goals and complying with regulatory and permit requirements.
  • Ensuring all personnel fully understand and adhere to the site SHE Principles and Golden Rules at all times, and, ensuring that all accidents / incidents are reported and thoroughly investigated in a timely manner.
  • Developing relationships to improve performance with key customers.
  • Improving and developing organization capabilities through effective performance management and planning/utilization of human and capital resources.
  • Ensuring that all site activities are conducted following the correct policies, procedures and processes, including Permit to Work and Management of Change.
  • Creating an environment that fosters team and individual operational excellence.
  • Establishing and modelling expected behaviours for an operational excellence organization. 
  • Leading site operations to consistently meet or exceed business objectives and Annual Operating Plan targets.
  • Developing and executing strategy for the site to increase sales, productivity, quality and customer satisfaction, and, effectively introducing new products for growth purposes.
  • Ensuring all aspects of site leadership, integration responsibilities and other roles are appropriate to the local area or business requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineer, Mechanical Engineering or a related field. An Master’s degree in MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in manufacturing with at least 5 – 7 years at management level.
  • Having direct experience in management role as General Manager, Plant Manager or Factory Manager would be highly advantageous.
  • A background from the Automotive, Electrical, Electronic and experience in related a multi-national company is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • A track record of team development and engagement.
  • Good command of the English language with computer proficiency.
