About the role

The Material Control Manager will oversee and execute Material Requirements Planning (MRP) in alignment with production schedules, ensuring seamless and uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This role involves optimizing inventory levels to prevent material shortages while minimizing overstock and holding costs, and managing the storage, allocation, and shelf-life control of materials in strict compliance with plant standards and food safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and execute Material Requirements Planning (MRP) in alignment with production schedules, ensuring seamless and uninterrupted manufacturing operations

• Optimize inventory levels to prevent material shortages while minimizing overstock and holding costs

• Collaborate closely with Production, Procurement, and Quality Assurance (QA/QC) departments to maintain material quality from receiving through to issuance

• Manage the storage, allocation, and shelf-life control of materials (implementing FIFO/FEFO principles) in strict compliance with plant standards and food safety regulations (e.g., GMP, HACCP, ISO)

• Analyze material consumption data, oversee cycle counting processes, and implement strategies to reduce waste and maximize cost efficiency

• Lead, mentor, and develop the material control team, fostering a culture of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement

About you

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

• Minimum of 5-7 years of managerial experience in material control, warehouse management, or supply chain operations

• Strong understanding of quality and safety management systems, including GMP, HACCP, and ISO standards

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to solve complex problems and communicate effectively across multiple departments

• High proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
