Head of Purchasing - SEA

 Responsibilities

  • Definition and implementation of regional/divisional purchasing strategies for direct and indirect materials within delegated authority, approved budget guidelines and Group standards
  • Development and establishment of regional/divisional purchasing budgets and objectives for direct and indirect materials and monitor execution.Initiate and implement corrective actions in case of deviations
  • Negotiation of regional purchasing agreements with suppliers for direct and indirect materials to ensure their reliable and safe supply at the most competitive prices according to Group materials specifications and standards and ensure contracting where appropriate
  • Management of the sourcing process for regional direct and indirect materials to ensure their availability (quantity and quality) for the Siegwerk Group at all times in all required locations within the Region
  • Developing and maintaining professional relationships with suppliers as well as ensuring close cooperation with Technology, internal counterparts and SCM management team
  • Assessment, auditing and monitoring of supplier performance according to agreements and defined standards to initiate and implement corrective actions in case of deviations. Establish list of preferred suppliers.
  • Adequate support and development of Region to carry out their activities.

Carry out

  • Plan define and monitor proper execution of regional/divisional direct and indirect materials purchasing strategies within budgets and objectives and define and implement corrective actions in case of deviations
  • Analyze and evaluate market information, condense for sharing and reporting and adapt regional purchasing strategies and sourcing activities to latest market developments
  • Manage, coach and steer the purchasing staff in sub-region including core skills, quality and overall development.
  • Be an active member of the SEA Management Team (SMT) and make sufficient contribution as required, responsible for and representing the Purchasing function, participate in general management decision, initiate and challenge ideas during discussion
  • Prepare and manage monthly BYTE Savings Report, Payment Term Improvement Report, Single Source Improvement Report, and key feedstock/RM and cost trends/impact reports for the sub-region.
  • Develop key raw material strategies for the sub-region that is aligned to Regional and Global purchasing policy and get approval for each from Regional Purchasing Head and global lead buyers.
  • Lead cross-functional Purchasing and Technical team (BYTE) to achieve the saving target, keep an effective relationship with B/U, TD, AD, SCM and the other peers.

Support 

  • Liaising effectively with Technology, TSD, GIN and BU’s in the search of innovative, new and alternative direct and indirect materials 
  • Liaising effectively with Lead Buyers in the Region and local buyers at site level 
  • Development and implementation of regional / global purchasing strategies and objectives
  • Development of strategic sourcing opportunities and establishment of an integrated supply chain in the Region/Division
  • Develop and implement the purchasing governance processes in compliance approach
  • Upon assignment of global/regional lead buyers, coordinate the information sharing globally for global lead buyer. Develop and ensure execution of regional strategy for regional lead buyer. 
  • Proactively demonstrate effective teamwork with regional sourcing team in China and India to ensure full and up to date awareness of possibilities on alternatives for the sub-region.

Qualification:

  • University degree in business administration/ science/ engineering
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Purchasing International purchasing experience
  • Mature understanding of key product technology Strong people management competencies Business fluent English
  • Experience  in chemical industry environment will be advantage
