Sourcing & Commodity Senior Manager

 Summary Job Functional

  • To support commodity management activities in accordance with policies, objectives and strategy.
  • Responsible to achieve, set and drive department KPIs to meet the overall Company’s goals
  • Supplier Management, develop and build relation with key suppliers
  • Monitors and ensures the procurement progress.
  • Leads internal communication initiatives, prepare and present Management Reports
  • Leads development of Knowledge Management (KM) system, procurement library and procurement portals (i.e. Sharepoint)

Job Activities :

Procurement & Planning

  • Manage and co-ordinate activities with worldwide supplier to ensure continuity of material supply to meet production objectives
  • Meet cost targets in the line with company goals/objectives
  • Work with SQE to resolve all quality related issue from suppliers
  • Management/coordination of a commodity buyer team.

Strategic Task/Responsibility

  • Market research/global sourcing to support competitiveness of procurement
  • Development/Implementation of key supplier management and development
  • Implementation of contracts/agreement to support continuity of supply.
  • Organize and co-ordinate with Key Account Managers, Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing to quality alternate sources/parts.
  • Vendor base optimization and performance improvements.
  • Provide a competitive Benchmarking, including price trends in the respective areas
  • Lead time optimization/buffer and consignment strategic.
  • Ensure target costing.
  • Supports and develop corporate strategies.

Supplier Management

  • Manage schedules in accordance to company’s policy.
  • Communication and review with supplier related market changes that affect the sourcing cost and availability of materials.
  • Review supplier performance and execute action for supplier development in cooperation with SQE.
  • Measure and Control cost competitiveness.

EOL Management

  • Manage procurement to reduce shortages.
  • Analyze EOL material exposure and action plan for resolution.
  • Negotiate action plan for material exposure closure with supplier.
  • Liaise with finance for monthly liability exposure declaration.
  • Procurement System Responsibility
  • Ensure system input and update for cost forecast and standard cost.
  • Ensure system input for procurement parameters in SAP i/e/ material cost, lead time.
  • Support system related issue to resolve.

New Product Early Activities

  • Liaise with Key Account/R&D/Order management to develop and define procurement involvemen
  • Management smooth transition to meet mass volume ramp.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or higher in Business management, Electronic, Mechanical or any field

 Experience

  • + 12 years experience in procurement (strategic and operational) Lead and responsibility for employees
  • Minimum of 3 years managerial experience in logistics / purchasing management
  • Working experience in IC manufacturing industry will be an added advantage
  • Sound knowledge in logistics supply chain systems and dynamics
  • Strong customer orientation and adaptable to changing customer demands
