Procurement Manager

Job Summary 


This role is mainly responsible for the following tasks.

  • Formulate and implement procurement policies, procedures and systems to school community and business partners.
  • Ensure that VERSO procurement activities result in qualitative options at a minimal price in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Establish and enhance professional and ethical relationships with vendors, suppliers and service providers.


Key Responsibilities 


  • Formulate and implement procurement policies, procedures and systems throughout school and business partners.
  • Develop procurement strategies and plan to serve both short-term and long-term needs of school as well as monitor and report actual performance against target on a regular basis.
  • Build, register and maintain a list of approved and qualified vendors, suppliers and service providers by conducting vendor analysis and risk management approach.
  • Establish and enhance professional and ethical long-term relationships with vendors, suppliers and service providers for ongoing purchases
  • Provide advice and support to departments in sourcing goods and services as per requirements and specifications in a timely manner, at the most competitive cost to school and in compliance with school policies and procedures.
  • Provide advice and support departments in reviewing and managing contracts and agreements related to the purchases.
  • Ensure that school-wide procurement activities are strictly in compliance with school’s procurement and finance policies and procedures.
  • Design and execute effective inventory management to ensure the optimum level of inventory to meet business requirements at all times.
  • Manage logistics arrangement of goods delivery as well as customs clearance matter for overseas purchases in an effective manner.
  • Supervise and develop Procurement Officer in order to perform the work assigned with accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Act as business partners to colleagues from other teams in relation to procurement, contract and inventory management related matters.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in supply chain, economics, business management or related fields.
  • 7-10 years of experience in procurement with large scale business, hotels or international schools. Start-up or pre-opening experiences will be an advantage.
  • Excellent command of English especially in writing and speaking.
  • Competent user of MS Office programs, especially Excel, with hands-on experiences in procurement management software.
  • High integrity and ethical working manner.
  • Excellent communication and strong negotiation skills.
  • Self-starter, detail-oriented, numerate and good analytical skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure, multi-task and prioritize work within tight deadlines.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude and coaching skills.
