JOB DEFINITION:  The Principal’s Office Secretary plays an important role in assisting both Assistant Principal and Principal to operate daily school business . The Principal’s Office Secretary works closely with Principals, teachers, students and parents helping and supporting the learning process and non-teaching tasks.

REPORTS TO:  The Assistant Principal and Principal
The Principal’s Office Secretary reports directly to the Principals regarding to school daily functions, student absences, communication with parents, non-teaching operational affairs.



  • Performs general secretarial tasks, including but not limited to producing letters, reports, memorandums, etc. via the computer and/or typewriter  
  • Makes photocopies, files, distributes mail, etc.  
  • Answers telephone communications and record accurate messages  
  • Communicates in a positive and effective manner with staff, administration, students, parents and/or visitors  
  • Performing other duties as assigned.


  • Ability to maintain confidentiality  
  • Ability to prepare and type correspondence  
  • Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation and grammar and office procedures  
  • Knowledge of recordkeeping methods  
  • Knowledge of alpha-numeric filing systems  
  • Knowledge of inventory control methods  
  • Knowledge of methods commonly used in the training for acquiring clerical skills  
  • Ability to demonstrate strong human relations skills
  • Ability to demonstrate strong human relations skills
  • Ability to have strong, positive communication and interaction skills when dealing with co-workers, students, administrators, parents and/or the community  
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of computers and various word processing, database and spreadsheet programs  
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of other office equipment  
  • Ability to manage the office, supervise and train other office personnel  
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and oral form  
  • Ability to perform clerical duties  
  • Ability to coordinate his/her daily activities and schedule  
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a variety of situations  
  • Ability to remain calm under trying circumstances  
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions  
  • Ability to maintain various organizational systems needed at the school  
  • Ability to make basic math computations quickly and accurately  
  • Ability to maintain efficient office procedures and a system for keeping track of requested actions and reports  
  • Ability to type from rough draft at a moderate rate of speed  
  • Ability to meet timelines  
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks  
  • Ability to show proficiency in clerical skills.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • High school graduate or equivalent and three years of general office experience of a clerical nature OR A combination of education and experience to acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities cited above.

  • Experience working in a school setting.
  • Thai nationality only
  • Age not over 40 years old
  • English proficiency is a must
