BI Engineer

 

As the Business Intelligence Engineer, you will play a key role in creating a foundation for data analysis, product vision and roadmap. You will need to collect information from business teams and build systems, dashboards, recommendations, and tools that have a global and lasting impact on our customers. You will balance excellent analytical and technical skills while clearly driving communication and collaboration with other key partners

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Analyze and extract relevant information from large and complicated data sets of structured and unstructured data to identify insights to influence product roadmap and business direction.
  • Design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards to help business teams measure and drive business performance
  • Collaborate with product teams, technical and business teams to consult, develop, and track KPI’s, automated reporting/process solutions and data infrastructure improvements to meet product and business team needs.
  • Serve as liaison between the product, science and technical teams to achieve the goal of providing actionable insights, and ad hoc investigations into future improvements. This will require data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.
  • Documents new and existing models, solutions and implementations.
  • Design and develop data product that help make reporting, analyzing more efficient. 

 

 

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Expertise using SQL for acquiring and transforming data
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including an ability to communicate complex analysis and insights with all cross functional teams (technical and business)
  • Problem Solving: Anticipates, identifies and defines problems. Develops and implements practical and timely solutions.
  • Business Function Knowledge: Uses an understanding of
  • business functions to analyze and propose technical strategies for the business.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Identifies the ongoing
  • needs of internal clients and ensure these needs are met or exceeded.

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with Big Data technologies e.g. Hadoop, Hive, Presto, and more!
  • Knowledge of scripting for data automation and visualization (e.g. Python, R, JS)
  • Implementation experience with any standard BI reporting (such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
