Financial Project Controller

Responsibilities 

  • Monitor and control the project results from contract signature up till completion.
  • Review and advise on project detailed budget that contains of man hours, subcontractor`s costs and other expenses.
  • Analyze each project in terms of cost overrun / underrun and suggest mitigation to the Project Manager / Director.
  • Review on each project if costs are booked by finance department on the proper position / phase / department.
  • Overall monitoring of all projects in terms of costs and maintain it with in the budget, discussion with Project Managers / Director about remedial actions in case of some findings.
  • Proactively and constantly partnering with Project Managers in tracking and analysis project costs and physical work progress against the budgeted project costs.
  • Keeping the track and monitor various financials such as cash flows, contract value, claim status, invoicing, receivables.
  • Preparation of project related inputs into company P&L on monthly basis.
  • Verify and review of all PO’s as issued for contract amount verification and all amendments / variations.
  • Prepare project cost and hour report for client.
  • Arrange the cost control review meetings with the Project team / Project Managers.
  • Support Project Managers / Business Department Managers for hourly rates and project proposals.
  • Hourly rate / cost center rate analysis, monitoring and update together with Finance team.
  • Monitor and analyze weekly time sheets, set up reminders for employees not filled / validate the time sheets in given deadline.
  • Prepare weekly / monthly man hour report vs budget based on internal tools.
  • Conduct regular control of company processes, such as QA, ISO and QMS, helping to identify weak or strong points, as well as reporting and suggesting changes to the head of departments.
  • Review or negotiate commercial conditions with project internal and external subcontractors.
  • Along business development activities, to review the cost and conditions of offers, establish financial benchmarks, optimize mobilization and cost plans, perform cash-flow analysis based on commercial conditions offered to the clients. May have to assist business developers along negotiations of large offers with clients. 
  • Run revenue of contracts after verifying all inputs were done correctly.
  • Prepare Contract profitability meetings (to be conducted with Managers in charge of the contract, heads of dpt, finance manager, business dev manager and MD).
  • Assist in the preparation of company landing and budget on revenue forecast, required resources and margin coherence.
  • Check and validate all information of new contracts before they are validated and uploaded in our IS.
  • Assist in the review and update of cost per hour, OH rate and multipliers.
  • Analyze occupation rates.
  • Assist in ensuring the strict implementation of company processes and rules.
  • Overall, participate to the performance improvement (of contract executions, of department efficiency and company profitability).
  • To travel in the region to assist other entities of Archetype. 

Authorities 

  • Review reports produced by accounting and finance teams related to projects, to critically analyze figures and question inconsistencies.

 Competencies

  •  Degree qualified in Finance or Engineering
  • A minimum five years of experience in a similar role within a multinational organization.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail in order to review and critically analyze reporting and identify/correct discrepancies.
  • Excellent strategic abilities with the ability to review accounting and financial reporting and make recommendations to the Directors of the organization regarding the financial status of projects.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to be hands-on in training staff on business accounting principles.
  • Previous experience in managing a several projects, demonstrating leadership expertise and the ability to advise to project managers / directors in case of issues, and to implement continuous improvement strategies to increase accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting and auditing.
  • Good English language skills are a pre-requisite for this position.
  • Good knowledge of excel and software which are used for project financial control (Power BI, Navision, etc.)
