Procurement Manager

Responsibilities;

  • Actively participate as a member of the Thailand Operations Management Team to ensure satisfactory operations and effective execution of all projects to achieve the company’s corporate and project profitability and schedule requirements
  • Undertake the role of Project Procurement Manager and project as necessary
  • Ensure the establishment of continuous improvement principles within the procurement sections
  • Review and recommendation of staffing activities, including promotions and recruitment needs
  • Ensure all reporting personnel, including assigned personnel are adequately aware of, and monitor compliance with:
    • The applicable Procurement Department and Project Procedures;
    • The requirements of licensors, clients, and Wood Secrecy Agreements;
    • The Policy and Procedures on HSSE
  • Support the proposals department’s activities in respect of such bidding opportunities identified for Thailand Operations
  • Ensure supervised managers monitor performance of projects relative to project schedules, budgets and procedures and ensure that corrective action / improvement is taken where necessary in accordance with project management execution strategies
  • Ensure maintenance of performance records for suppliers and construction contractors’ monitor performance through the life of an order or contract and where appropriate raise alerts and communicate as necessary. Where appropriate, initiate / participate in discussions with suppliers or contractors with the objective of mutually improving performance
  • Maintain dialogue / meetings with APAC Procurement Department and other affiliates to ensure that a common approach to procurement activities is optimized, exchange information on suppliers / contractors performances, pricing and delivery. Maximize knowledge of global sourcing and overall Wood purchasing power and leverage
  • Ensure the company policy is maintained in respect of performance appraisals, ensuring that performance is reviewed on an annual basis
  • Maintain necessary contact with professional bodies
  • Undertake salary reviews for procurement and contract management staff, in conjunction with the Manager of Project Operations
  • Maintain good employee relations and projection of the Wood image to clients, public and other third parties
  • Oversee preparation and provide relevant support during audits of Procurement activities
  • Provide technical training for Procurement staff, including identification of suitable courses to be provided by third parties, according to allocated budget
  • Oversee programme for, and ensure completion of appropriate discipline and technical audits of activities carried out by Purchasing and Construction Contract groups
  • Ensure that the requirements of Wood Compliance Programme are appropriately incorporated within the responsibilities of Procurement

Qualifications;

  • A degree in Engineering or similar diploma
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in major oil / gas refinery / petrochemical projects in the capacity of lead procurement engineer with engineering contractor / PMC organization
  • Track record for the past 8 years with experience in PMC / EPC organizations in the field of refinery / petrochemicals industries and must have handling procurement of plant and machinery and materials management for major projects of value not less than US$500 million each
