Quality System Manager
     Quality Manager aims to ensure that the product or service an organization provides is fit for its purpose and meets customer expectations. A quality manager co-ordinate the activities required to meet this aim. The quality manager monitors and advises on how the quality management system is performing and publishes data and reports regarding company performance against set indicators. Quality managers liaise with managers and staff throughout the organization to ensure that the QA system is functioning properly. Where appropriate, the QA manager advises on changes and their implementation and provides training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality. Establish procedures for maintaining standards of quality, reliability, and safety. Determine and enforce through functional groups - quality and safety requirements in accordance with real company needs, Organize and promote company-wide quality improvement efforts. Evaluate and develop improved techniques for the control of quality, reliability and safety. Directly responsible for implementation and maintenance of the company quality system, reporting on the performance of the quality system for review and as a basis for improvement of the quality system. The Quality Manager also has responsibility to act as liaison with external parties on matters relating to the quality system.  

This position is responsible for:

Plant Quality
  • Planning and ensuring implementation of plant quality activities in all stages of product conversion to ensure compliance of materials, processes, and finished goods to specifications, Mondelez Quality Procedural Elements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Managing the plant’s quality improvement programs: measuring quality performance, identifying improvement areas, formulating corrective actions and ensuring its implementation by the lead functions.
  • Approving acceptance of materials and releases of finished products.
Supply Chain Quality
  • Planning and implementing audit plan of local suppliers, conduct of regular trade watch and qualification and technical servicing to distributors and co-manufacturer to ensure full compliance to MDLZ Quality Expectations and SEA Supply Chain Quality plans and programs
Some of the key accountabilities for this role will include (but are not limited to)

Quality Management Systems
  • Establish and maintain an effective Quality Management System in KK site to consistently ensure product quality and food safety.
  • Drive continuous improvement of Quality KPI's (e.g. FPQ, consumer/ customer complaints, etc.) through performance review/ trending, training and audits.
  • Cultivate and drive a quality-oriented culture towards Zero Quality Issues by focusing on preventive measures identified through effective risk assessments.
Legal and Corporate Requirements
  • Oversee the implementation and effectiveness of installed systems relative to legal and corporate requirements (e.g. HACCP, QCMS) to ensure Food Safety of all manufactured products.
  • Maintain mandatory licensing requirements at the site as required for food establishments, covering local and export regulations.
Quality Assurance
  • Manage test programs for all relevant properties (chemical, physical, microbiological, sensory) of established and new raw materials, packaging materials, processes, semi-finished and finished products in accordance with ISO Stds, HACCP system, legislation and internal requirements.
People Management
  • Coach and lead the Quality Systems team by setting directions, developing potentials and optimizing performance.
  • Drives excellence by providing leadership in the attainment of goals. Ensures communication of plans and information to personnel as well as follow through on all commitments.
  • Manages performance through the development and implementation of targeted personnel performance management measures including constant and efficient performance reviews, feedback, coaching, and counselling.
  • In cooperation with Human Resources, initiates and supports training and development of each individual personnel.
  • Identifies high potential individuals within the team and develop them to be possible successors to his post.
  • Ensures discipline in the workplace
Cross-functional Activities
  • Direct and manage cross-functional activities on global /regional/ site Quality-initiated programs in order to ensure consistent approach to all aspects of quality and food safety.
  • Coach section functions on major quality and food safety related subjects and issues.
  • Collaborate with other functions in projects and issues relevant to the Quality function (R&D, MBD).
Supplier Quality Management
  • Manage supplier performance through alignment meetings, audits and quality performance trending.
  • Drive improvement in supplier’s product and service quality by utilizing cross-functional support.
Consumer/ Customer Complaints
  • Manage the reporting, trending and monitoring of corrective actions for customer and consumer complaints received in the site.
  • Initiate and encourage cross-functional collaboration in effective resolution of issues.
Crisis Situations/ Major Quality Issues
  • Manage crisis situations internally as well as externally in a way that is supportive of the company's image, relevant policies and business objectives thus ensuring proper risk management.
  • Manage major quality issues internally and as necessary in conjunction with local and overseas business units.
  • Decide with functional and site inputs on the disposition of non-conforming goods.
Budgeting
  • Ensure proper planning and monitoring of the department’s budget, plan investments and prepare appropriation requests.
IL6S
  • IL6S implementation / Quality loss eradication

Do you have what it takes?

Education, qualifications and training

  • University graduate of any Food Science or Technology course (Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Technology), licensed Chemist or Chemical Engineer or related filed
  • Computer-literate, and has working background on statistical techniques.
  • Fluent English, good PC knowledge (MS Office)
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and reading
  • Good knowledge of ISO quality system and QCMS, HACCP standards
  • Good knowledge of the National and EU Food Safety regulations / PM-/KF policies and procedures
  • Good understanding of Process, Production, Development and Information systems operating in the Category

Experience and skills required

General: 

  • At least five (5) years in quality control and assurance function in the food and/or pharmaceutical company in a supervisory capacity
  • Analytical and/or micro lab experience.
  • Excellence people management and team builder
  • Experience in supply chain quality is an advantage
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Planning, priority setting, problem solving and monitoring skills
  • Timely Decision Making, Idea Leadership
  • Good communication and people management skills.
  • Problem-solving and project management, risk management skills
  • Technical Requirements (up to 6, using QA Competencies)

Specialised knowledge or skills required

  • Knowledgeable on Supplier Quality programs, HACCP, GMP, ISO and GLP
