Facility Manager

Job Summary 

The role is to promote and ensure safe operations and the  management and maintenance programme of VERSO campus including buildings, assets and sport facilities. Also, this role is to provide professional advice and supervision in the estates, sport facilities, security, health & safety and environmental subjects.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Health, Safety and Security, Building Management and Maintenance, Management of Outsourced Service Providers and Management of School Events

  • Set standards on hygiene, cleaning, ground management, security and safety of VERSO campus and estates.
  • Develop, review and monitor estates related policies to ensure that all school facilities are well maintained and meet government regulations and standards.
  • Prepare annual budget for maintenance and capital expenditure plans as well as assist in future development of school facilities.
  • Maintain a complete filing system of drawing, specification and equipment specification manuals for all floors and equipment on campus.
  • Supervise and oversee daily operations of cleaning, ground management and security in accordance with the standards set and agreed by management.
  • Build and supervise a team of highly qualified and motivated cleaners, ground staff and security guards.
  • Manage, monitor and maintain good working relationship with outsourced service providers such as pest control, security team, landscape maintenance, outdoor window cleaning, school buses and caterer to achieve the best results aligned with VERSO standards.
  • Manage and control the consumption of energy and utilities and uphold VERSO's target on being a socially responsible, environmentally conscious and energy efficient organisation.
  • Manage and control equipment, stock and store items for operations of the responsible areas.
  • Devise safety measures and evacuation plans in case of emergency and conduct drills to ensure that these exercises and plan are in order in accordance with VERSO and local government health and safety standards.
  • Responsible for hazardous substance license.
  • Act as primary contact person for school events and supervise the onsite coordination of school events including set-up and dissemble of event venue and spaces.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, facility management, construction management or related fields.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Professional experiences at managerial level and proven track record of success in building and ground management with multi-cultural organizations or international schools.
  • Solid knowledge of health and safety requirements, child safety and preventive maintenance.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with management and various stakeholders.
  • Resourceful, flexible and able to handle pressure and changes in business directions efficiently.
  • Strong leadership skills and able to motivate and develop team to deliver the desired results.
