Mechanical Engineer

LOCATION  : Thailand Smelting and Refining Co., Ltd. (Phuket branch)

FUNCTION : Maintenance & Engineering Department

POSITION :  Mechanical Engineer

REPORT TO : Maintenance & Engineering Manager


Accountable for design, planning, directing on the installation, Preventive Maintenance (PM), and Corrective Maintenance (CM) of all mechanical, rotating equipment machineries and plant facilities to support company operation and ensure its operational conditions with most efficient, quality issues, economical manner, safety, and conform with engineering standards.            

  • Participates, coordinates in planning maintenance program of all plant machineries/equipment/mechanical/facilities, and projects implementation.
  • Prioritizes maintenance and engineering work and allocates manpower to perform the plenty of works efficiently, timely, economically and safely.
  • Manages, directs, supervises, and controls all mechanical, rotating, static equipment, and facilities maintenance   according to PM program and Internal Work Orders (IWO).
  • Checks and inspects operational condition of plant/machinery/equipment to ensure safety, optimum efficiency and minimize down-time.
  • Investigates and analyzes the causes of failures and breakdowns in order to prevent risk of failures and accidents.
  • Initiates and interfaces with design processes to modify and improve mechanical system, rotating and static equipment, and utilities systems for enhancing its efficiency, reliability, and safety.
  • Proposes, interface, and implements of engineering projects in conforming to the company policy in development and improvement required or assigned by ME manager.
  • Prepares, reviews, and implements PM/Calibration check sheet and programme in order to enhance stability, reliability, and efficiency of mechanical system, machinery, and equipment working conditions.
  • Plans and prepares spare parts, accessories, and tools for machinery, equipment, mechanical, static and rotating equipment and vehicle to ensure that they are adequate for maintenance.
  • Supervises, directs, and control Material coordinators to manage the spare parts inventory and material requisition transactions in the warehouse to ensure that they are adequate in serving maintenance activities in timely and economical manner.
  • Supervises and controls contractors according to open contract requisition.
  • Plans, supervises trains, develops and motivates subordinates to achieve and maintain optimum standard of performance and safety.
  • Participates and supports on productivity activity such as Safety improvement/audit program, ISO9001, ISO14001, TQM, Energy Management System and other company activities.
  • Performs routine maintenance management/administration and other tasks as assigned by Maintenance & Engineering Manager.


  • Bachelor degree in an Engineering of Mechanical
  • Male Age 21-30 years old, Thai Nationality
  • 1-2 years of experience in maintenance and engineering will be preferred.
  • English proficiency in writing and speaking.
  • Fluently use Microsoft office
  • Fluently use 2D/3D program will be preferred.


  • Ability to solve operational and technical problems in his/her field of profession and expertise
  • Ability and good managerial skills, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong personality with good attitude to work with multiple groups of people and multi-task with good interpersonal relationship and leadership are essential
  • Be able to work under pressure.
