Director of Housekeeping


Manages housekeeping functions and staff to ensure property guest rooms, public area and employee areas are clean and well maintained. Areas of responsibility include Housekeeping, Minibar, Health Club and, if applicable, Laundry. Directs and works with team to successfully execute all housekeeping operations. Strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize the financial performance of the department. Ensures that standards and procedures are being followed.


  • Bachelor degree or higher
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand Thai and English used in the workplace.
  • 4-5 years in related field and 2-3 years holding upper management title level in International hotel chain.


1. Profit and Loss

  • Manage administrative and operational duties.
  • Manage operating expenses to minimize costs while providing excellent guest services.
  • Assist Manager in the daily maintenance of the room inventory status to achieve optimal levels of revenues while maintaining high levels of guest expectations. Have control over the elements that determine profit and loss.
  • 2. Guest Satisfaction

  • Ensure all guests are being treated in an efficient and courteous manner that all Marriott standards are being applied.
  • Resolve and follow up on customer complaints as appropriate to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality.
  • Ensure all Housekeeping quality standards are complied with and that policies and procedures are consistently applied.
  • Coordinate activities with other hotel departments in order to facilitate increased levels of communication and guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure that members of the Marriott Bongvoy Program and its partner programs are appropriately recognized meet all Marriott Standards accordingly.
  • Responsible for enhancing the product and service that is presented to the guest.
  • Well groomed according to Marriott standard
  • No use of mobile phone in public spaces, neither during on the job
  • 3. Associate Satisfaction

        1. Ensure the timely completion of performance appraisals.

        2. Give direction and be responsible for the implementation of plans.

        3. Monitor plans’ effectiveness and recommend changes in response to the marketplace, including setting targets, planning and scheduling work and performance indicators that are typical productivity and efficiency measures.

  • Able to exercise hire and fire discretion within Marriott policies as they relate to the ethical codes, standards of good business practice and local laws and regulations.
  • 4. Quality Assurance

  • Conduct inspections of guest rooms / back of the house areas and provide feedback to room attendants and Public Area.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the hotel to ensure adherence to cleanliness and maintenance standards. 
  • Responsible for maintaining quality of product and ensuring consistency in its delivery and standards.
  • Coordinate department’s activities with other departments to facilitate increased levels of communication and guest satisfaction.
  • Bear ultimate responsibility for monitoring the consumption and order replacement of guest and cleaning supplies
  •  Assist to oversee divisional matters as they relate to federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws.
  •  Additional duties as necessary and assigned by Director of Rooms and Hotel Manager.
  • 5. Training and Development

  • Facilitate hiring process, including interviewing, training, and evaluating job performance. 
  • Provide ongoing training and development to all positions.
  •  Be well versed and knowledgeable of “St. Regis” Fire and Evacuation procedures as well as health and safety requirements in the Workplace.  Ensure Associates are aware of their duty of care as determined by legislation and that they maintain complete familiarity.
  •   Personally ensure compliance with all relevant Workplace Health & Safety and Occupational Health & Safety legislation, and related “St. Regis” and Marriott Policies.
