Senior Cost Estimation Engineer

At RMA Automotive Limited, based in Laemchabang, Chonburi, Thailand

Responsibilities
To provide additional senior purchasing management staff to support RMA growth and expansion plan for the future. Specifically this position will strengthen our opportunities for gaining new automotive business and help purchasing department to prepare for potential new market and customer in a timely way. This position will provide strategic sourcing a partner and senior level working counterpart for product development department and help to build our business process to reach target costs to open new business. With PD, this position will co-manager a cross functional team to develop and procure new part and accessories required by new customer and new target.

Functional:
Responsible for strategic sourcing and supplier qualification associated with opening new automotive business opportunities for RMA support technical sales during the bidding process. Responsible to develop and manage an improve RMA system for the RFQ package generated by PD and purchasing to relay key requirements to RMA supplier in a clear and understandable way. Responsible to develop deep and varied knowledge of automotive component supplier likely to be needed by RMA. Specifically this included Thailand and China, however global knowledge is also desirable.

Technical:
Able to understand automotive standards and key production milestones associated with part and accessories commonly used by RMA in the vehicle modification process. Able to read and understand technical drawings. Basic knowledge of statistical control and common manufacturing methods used in automotive.

Internal/External Interactions
Will liaison with product development team and product manager as primary duty as RMA will manager relationship with key supplier at the highest level. In secondary duty will fill in for Group Purchasing Manager during absence and will be responsible to ensure clear communication for with all RMA internal departmental customer of the purchasing department.

Interested candidates must possess the following:

  • University degree. Master degree is desirable.
  • 10 years’ experience in the automotive industry. OEM and manufacturing experience desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge if automotive supplier base in Thailand. Global knowledge is desirable.
  • Familiar with international purchasing procedure and standards use in automotive industry.  
  • Able to identify potential business opportunities and prioritize work accordingly to win or gain profit for RMA.
  • Ability to build and lead a team.
  • Ability to learn rapidly.
  • Motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Personable with social skills able to work across all RMA division.
  • Strong communication skills in spoken written in English.
