The Process Engineer will be responsible for the following key functions:

  • Managing and maintaining up-to-date recipes in DCS (Control Room) based on technical profile and manufacturing process. Providing technical supervision during the scale-up of new products to the main plant and to issue timely Main Plant Trial Reports with findings.
  • Ensuring all recipe changes and the introduction of new processes to the plant are managed through agreed standards.
  • Measuring, monitoring and utilising plant benchmark data to develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve in areas such as OEE, Conversion per Tonne, Yield, and Quality.
  • Liaising with QC and Operations in investigating process related issues and recommending ways to resolve the issue, using suitable root cause analysis techniques.
  • Ensuring support is given to investigators during customer complaint investigations, and the agreed corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.
  • Ensuring relevant personnel are regularly trained and validated to the required technical competency level for their role.
  • Issuing a weekly and monthly report summarising progress on key performance indicators and ongoing work activities.
  • Evaluating best practice technologies and/or alternative process steps that will deliver cost reduction, improvement in production quality, reduction of energy and total asset life cycle costs.
  • Ensuring up-to-date plant process documentation, in line with the Manufacturing and Project Excellence Framework.
  • Participating in risk assessments and safety studies of designs.
  • Supporting the preparation of commissioning procedures and assisting in the start-up activities and reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance, and providing support in relation to all SHE initiatives and activities.
  • Providing support to ISO9001, ISO14001 and other Quality Management System implementation processes. 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, or any related field.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience from a chemical manufacturing or project implementation background.
  • A technical background in the chemicals and consumer process related sectors in highly desirable.
  • Good personality, service-minded, enthusiastic and hard-working.
  • Good command of the English language with computer proficiency.
