Admissions Officer

 Mentor International (part of UKEAS group) is one of Thailand's leading overseas education consultancies.  We provide educational consultancy to potential students wanting to study in the UK, Australia, USA, Ireland, New Zealand and Canada.  Our main office is in Bangkok located in Ratchadamri and we have a second office in Thonglo. We are now looking for well motivated professionals to join our expanding team in Ratchadamri office.

 

Job Title:   Admissions Officer

Section:     Administration
Reports to: Project Manager - Data
Location:   Bangkok office Mentor International (part of UKEAS group),
Appointment: Full time 

Purpose:

The Admissions Officer is a crucial role with a range of internal and external customers to deal with. Attention to detail and excellent administration skills are a must as is the highest level of professionalism.

The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating applications to partner institutions, taking all documents and information provided by Counsellors and submitting applications via university online applications or portals. Data accuracy both in the application submitted and in data on the Database will be a key performance indicator.

The successful applicant will also be responsible for liaising with partner institutions on behalf of applicants and ensuring stakeholders are kept abreast with the progress of each students’ application status. The role entails the ability to multitask, work under pressure and independently with minimal supervision, and a high degree of analytical skill.

Key Responsibilities:

Application processing:

  • Prepare and send applications for all programmes and partner schools, checking qualifications, the validity of documents and authenticity of results.
  • Research systems of education in other countries.
  • Managing both internal and external admissions shared inboxes.

Admissions recording and reporting:

  • Track the admissions status and record updates using the internal database system with the aim of 100% accuracy.
  • Assist in producing reports as required.
  • Follow best practice Admissions procedure and engage on-going development and training.

Communication and customer service:

  • Build and develop strong and positive relations with Admissions staff from partner institutions.
  • Follow-up with partner institutions by phone and email to ensure timely updates and offers for the applicants.
  • Resolve urgent or problem cases by phone and email.
  • Promote and develop cross departmental collaboration.
  • Respond to telephone, email and in-person enquiries from students and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the University at higher education events and assist with school visits, with the ability to work occasional weekends.
  • Assist students in booking accommodation.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree is Essential.
  • Overseas study experience from English speaking countries will be a plus.
  • This position is open to new graduates.
  • Confident in communicating and negotiating in English over phone and email.
  • Familiar with major business software applications and/or some sales pipeline or CRM software (Adobe, Microsoft Office, etc).
  • Experience of having worked within a service delivery sector is desirable.
  • Education Admission experience is desirable.
  • Experience within a customer-centric, process driven administration environment an advantage.
  • Touch typing skills an advantage.
  • Familiar with the international education market an advantage.
