Area Sales Manager (Fragrance and Beauty)

In line with the business vision and mission, the Area Sales Manager actively participates in strategic planning of retail operations and support development of territory by partnering with counter/boutiques, the retail network and the corporate to ensure consistent standards and objectives. Coach and develop our Counter/Boutique Managers and stakeholders to achieve planned goals on sales, client experience & loyalty, and people development.  In summary, the ASM takes overall responsibility and accountability for CHANEL image and retail business within the assigned geographical area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team Leader: 

  • Review on a monthly basis with each Counter/Boutique Manager on their KPIs.  Enhance performance by developing and empowering the team via coaching, with focus on Counter/Boutique Managers.
  • Engage with Counter/Boutique Managers in talent recruitment, development and retention, ensure people development and reduce turnover
  • Consistently lead the team with examples as role model.

Business Development:

  • Participate in the planning of sales goals and objectives (sales targets), setting KPIs and performance reviews of sales team
  • Review and implement attractive yet effective commission structure to improve productivity of sales force
  • Supervise the execution of Marketing programs. Ensure all requirements for the programs are provided by working closely with Counter/Boutique Managers.
  • Oversee stock target and ensure healthy stock holding. Develop efficient process of stock and inventory management.
  • Preparation of commission calculation for payroll
  • Ensure all operational procedures and policies regarding sales, returns, transfers, stock adjustments are followed.
  • Work closely with Learning team on POS issues – selling & services, people & coaching – to enhance business and people performance.
  • Possess strategic thinking ability, be able to initiate and propose new ideas, to compose reports or proposals by transforming sales data into useful information, inspire and lead the team to make decision and get the right support from third parties.

On the field:

  • Coach and motivate the sales force to understand team synergy. Be aware of market/competitor trends/activities
  • Preparation of duty roster of the sales team
  • Maintain high level of service at counters
  • Ensure the respect of uniforms and grooming guidelines at POS at all times
  • Ensure all counters/boutiques follow the visual merchandising and hygiene guidelines as directed by VM & Design and Training teams
  • Motivate and build a dynamic sales team
  • Manage all disciplinary issues relating to the sales team
  • Collect & share best practices of business growth among the responsible boutiques & POS
  • Support the Counter/Boutique Managers in the resolution of client service complaint issues

ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS :

  • University graduate, preferably in Business Management, Marketing and Sales
  • Minimum 5 years experience in managing retail people, of which 2 years in managing multiple teams no less than 10 people
