Marketplace Business Developer


As a Marketplace Business Developer, you will be responsible for searching, pitching, and closing brands or sellers by bringing them online the Marketplace Platform.

Our technology company requires a Business Development Head with strong interpersonal and communication skills, a focus on organization, and enhanced multitasking abilities. As a Marketplace Business Development Head, you will be responsible for managing a team of Business Developers & drive growth to the Marketplace business by bringing in novel sellers to the platform. The ideal candidate has experience researching market trends, targeting relationships and using proven methods to develop our business strategy while retaining and coaching his/her respective team.


  • Appointment scheduling, preparation, and presentation to sellers. Followed by generation of new leads/sellers with the intention of creating more sales/revenue.
  • Train new & existing sellers on how to manage and succeed on the platform.
  • Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities.
  • Own your KPI of bringing new, healthy, and performing sellers on the Marketplace Platform.
  • Maintaining positive seller relationships post live & ensuring ultimate seller experience on the platform.
  • Work closely with Business Development Head to strategize more effective sales methods. 
  • Attend networking/industry events to further find potential leads to join the platform.
  • Host & run offline/online events to further grow lead pool.
  • Understand the target markets, including industry, company, project, company contacts and which market strategies can be used to attract sellers
  • Possess a strong understanding of our products, our competition in the industry and positioning.


Qualifications & Competency:

  • Organized team player.
  • Familiarity with Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint is a must.
  • Ability to understand seller's expectations and experience.
  • Able to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • An outgoing personality and willingness to interact, share ideas and work with individuals from other departments/ventures.
  • Willingness to learn in a fast-moving environment and experience working in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.


  • At least 2 years proven track record in Business Development, Sales, or Marketing.
