Our client, a well-established global leader in high-performance photonics components, is seeking a Buyer to manage the purchasing of materials and components required to support manufacturing operations. This role oversees supplier relationships, material availability, commercial negotiations, cost management, delivery performance, and supply risk.
The Buyer works closely with suppliers, contract manufacturers, Planning, Operations, and Engineering to ensure materials are available in line with production requirements, while maintaining the right balance of cost, quality, delivery, and risk.

- Manage purchasing activities for assigned materials, components, and suppliers.
- Act as a key point of coordination between suppliers, contract manufacturers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure materials are ordered and delivered in line with production and inventory requirements.
- Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, lead times, delivery terms, and other commercial conditions.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives while balancing cost, quality, delivery, and supply risk.
- Lead supplier and part qualification activities to support supply chain resiliency, scalability, and compliance.
- Monitor supplier and subcontractor performance against agreed commercial and contractual requirements.
- Identify supplier and material risks and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
- Support price and cost analysis of supplier and subcontractor proposals.
- Work with Planning and Operations to resolve material shortages and supplier-related production constraints.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by ensuring supplier and purchasing readiness.
- Coordinate with Engineering on technical requirements, specifications, drawings, and supplier-related issues.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring supplier, material, cost, and delivery issues.
- Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier, lead-time, and material data within ERP/MRP systems.
- Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance, purchasing processes, lead times, cost, and data accuracy.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in production planning, material planning, supply planning, or manufacturing operations (background in electronics or optical component manufacturing highly preferred).
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and purchasing best practices.
- Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, including price and cost analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Power BI experience is an advantage.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications, and related documents.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills.
- Fluent in Thai and English (written and spoken); proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is a strong advantage.
